# Difference between symmetric and asymmetric deposits?

* **Symmetric deposits** involve adding equal values of RUNE and another asset, which requires no adjustment by the pool. **Asymmetric deposits** involve adding only one type of asset, which is rebalanced to a 50/50 ratio of RUNE and the asset, potentially incurring fees and slippage.
